« A timeless transition between the Middle Ages and modern world ».

This is how our guide Jean-Michel Jorda, a Nepal specialist, describes the chaotic development of the country: cows walking through the streets, a myriad of cables running along the buildings, but also magnificent landscapes, majestic temples and friendly people.
We were immediately captured by this atmosphere. The Fall Winter 18/19 collection will match perfectly with this country !

We discussed extensively with our guide, who’s stories of discovery and Himalayan legends hooked us. Finally, we chose to go for a route that allow us to discover the diversity of this country, a place of enchanting mysticism to travelers.

First stop is Katmandu where we are immersed directly into the Nepalese atmosphere, surrounded by the mountains. We visit one of the most important Buddhist sanctuary, named Bodnath. A pristine white dome, on which Buddha’s blue eyes are perfectly shaped, hosts the temple. This mix of bright colours with white recalls our Friends collection so we decide to shot it in this heavenly location infused with a breathtaking spirituality.

We next head to Namche Bazar on an untamed trek unveiling the white peaks of the highest summits standing at 6 or 7 thousand meters. We walk by an incredible suspension bridge overhanging a powerful torrent, meet loaded yaks and enjoy traditional meals with the Sherpas.

We decide to set up base camp in Khumjung for the next two days, one of the first and oldest Sherpa village, home to 500 residents and host of a popular relic: The Yeti Scalp! Lulled by the legends, we decide to go on a quest to find the mythical animal with our Adventure collection!

We could not leave this beautiful country without seeing Gokyo and take the opportunity to test our Expedition collection. We are struck by the beauty of this place: a small village standing at 4 800 meters (same as Mont Blanc) with a glistening lake and a stunning view on Mount Cho Oyu and its summit standing at 8 188 meters. A large sea of ice eats up the valley across the village and we can hear the sound of the ice cracking, every so often.

To mark the end of our Nepalese expedition, a stop by Lukla’s tiny airport is essential. Perched atop the Himalaya, it is recognised to be the most dangerous in the world! After winding our way through three or four mountain passes and flying low over the summits on board of our small crate, a large curve gives us a glimpse of the tiny airstrip, located on a steep mountain side, between earth and sky…

Back in Katmandu, from where we will leave this ancient realm nestling at the foot of the world…
